This play centers on a vulgar leftover custom in a feudal-era village—wedding pranks—but unlike typical traditions that target the bride or groom, here the focus is on the bridesmaid. Traditional wedding rituals usually involve harmless fun: blocking the door (to tease the groom before he enters), playing small games, asking for red envelopes (a symbol of good luck), and seeking auspicious omens. However, Quick Village has a centuries-old tradition specifically of "teasing the bridesmaid." During this practice, the bridesmaid must unconditionally comply with all the prank rules and methods. If she refuses to cooperate or objects, the host family (the groom’s side) will be cursed with bad luck, and their lineage will be looked down upon by fellow villagers for life. The female lead, Vicky Ortiz, acts as the bridesmaid for her elder sister Willa Ortiz, who is marrying Simon Quick. She accompanies the couple to Quick Village. Though the "bridesmaid-teasing" tradition exists, things initially don’t go too far—no one wants to embarrass either family. That changes until the antagonist Terry Rose and his two lackeys (Elias Trent and another accomplice) arrive. From the moment Vicky Ortiz gets out of the car, the three men start plotting how to target her. Eventually, they decide to use the "bridesmaid-teasing" tradition as an excuse to crash the wedding. When the Quick family (Simon Quick’s family) sees it’s Terry Rose—the richest man in Quick Village—they know they can’t afford to
