After a car accident, she feigns mental impairment to plot revenge in secret.Gu Mingxiao sees through her disguise. Having also lost his child before, he aids her. They cooperate to rescue Xiaobei, who’s locked up and tortured by Shen Zizhi. To escape conviction, Shen Zizhi murders Yao Qingman and fakes her suicide. He dies in a yacht explosion during their final confrontation.Gu Mingxiao later learns Xiaobei is his biological son. He proposes to Lin Yao, and they build a new life with the boy.
