Sam Everett, former King of Mystic Hall, retires from the underworld to run a restaurant and raise Madison Armstrong, the daughter of his fallen brother Steve Norris, in fulfillment of a deathbed promise. When a privileged rich kid, Ricky Dalton, bullies Madison, Sam steps in and draws retaliation from the kid's father, only to be rescued by his loyal right-hand man Griffin Doyle. The elders of Crystal Atrium invite Madison to run for the new presidency. Along the way, they face insults and harassment from Mayor Frank Bartlett and his daughter, who also sends chef Sean Baxter to provoke them. Recognizing Sam, Baxter switches sides out of fear and becomes a mole. Sam deliberately throws a fight to let go of a gala invitation, using it as part of his setup. At the inauguration gala, Sam's military background is fully exposed, but he foils Helena Stanton's assassination plot, and she names Adrian Spencer as the mastermind. Sam reveals Madison's true lineage, reclaims his throne at Mystic Hall, and launches a cross-border manhunt, while Madison officially takes office as the new President of Crystal Atrium, kicking off a global pursuit of justice.
